"Snakeskin" Puffer?

Post by Pufferpunk »

I just saw the coolest-loooking puffer today. It was huge, about 10-12" & had a really long snout. It was lightish tan/brown with lots of small darker spots on it, along with lots of circles, all brown. I don't have a camera phone & it'll be a while before I have time to go back there with a camera. It looked like maybe some sort of fugu--they said it burries itself.

Takifugu pardalis maybe?
Those are the only ones I can think of that would look like snake-skin..

That's the one! What a mug this fish had. Looked just like a dog. It was really big too. I saw it at a LFS in the Chicago area.
