Sad, sad day.

Post by t1gerbee »

I lost ET, my porc. :-(

happened a couple of days ago, but was too sad to post it.

I do not really understand what happened. All was well, and I fed the puffers a defrosted shell on prawn as usual.

Next morning, everyone else was back to normal but ET was still really full looking, like she hadn't digested all the food. It was so sad, she just sat on the floor and couldn't get up, even when she tried she was just weighed down again.

I did a massive water change (no small deal on a 100G tank) and hoped that she was just a bit constipated and she would sort herself out. I had to go out for a couple of hours and was going to post on here about constipation treatments for marine fish, but when I got home she had died.Exactly where she'd been sat.

I couldn't believe it, she'd gone from super happy to dead in 24 hours, I was and am gutted.

I nursed her from a very ill parasite ridden, ich incrusted fish 6 months ago to a beautiful happy fat little buzzing friend...

and then she just died.

I won't replace her, RIP little friend. You were my dream fish and I lost you way too early :-(

I'm very sorry t1gerbee. When we nurse our pets it hurts that much more to lose them. You did your best. There are a lot of unknowns to fish keeping. May she rest in peace.

thanks guys.

I'll be ok soon i'm sure, and my remaining puffs have put their fins on their hearts and promised to be fit and healthy for a long time...

(we had a chat last night before lights out, and they seemed to be listening very intently to me with their noses lined up along the glass!) :-)

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. :( We have been through so much with our little puffs. I miss my Selena so much but I don't think I will ever get another porky. I thought little ET was doing so good. My heart goes out to you. I know excatly how you feel. We did everything we possibly could to save them. Sometimes all you can do is give them love, I know ET had lots of love.
