Post by PufferGuy »

i currently have 1 gsp in a 10 gallon freshwater tank. i bought a 40 gallon tank, which i want to make brackish for the gsp. my question is how do i go about taking the gsp from freshwater to brackish. im totally confused on how to do this?so if someone could explain to me how todo this it would be greatly appreciated. p.s im cycling the tank firs,t unless it would be better to add somme marine salt to it first

If your gsp is in freshwater now, make the new tank freshwater to start. After you get the puffer settled into the new tank, then start adding a little bit of salt with each water change until you reach your desired sg. Don't up the sg really fast though, only like .002 per week. Just make sure you do everything slowly so you don't traumatize your puffer.
