Break up big snails for small puffer?

Break up big snails for small puffer?
Greetings All- I have some larger ramhorn snails that are too large for my SAps. Should I break these snails into pieces (maybe with a small hammer?? haha) so that the SAPs can eat them?

I used to hammer snails for my GSPs regularly.
