i bought a green spotted puffer today and was told he was a fresh water puffer and would go with my 3 sap,is this true coz ive just seen some where that they need salt water.
he looks fine in the tank and they feed together but will he survive in that tank all his live?

no this is not true, unfortunately this is how a lot of people are sold GSP's, look in the pufferpedia and the puffer library for care instructions, but to answer your question they need brackish water

cheers for answer,its ashame because he is a funny lttle puffer but will have to go back.
if they tell me i can only have store credit then they can think again,its there fault they give me the wrong information

if they said that the puffer can live in freshwater for a period of time then they wouldn't be lying, did they say it could live in freshwater for life?

i asked if they are fresh water puffers and would they be ok with my SAPs,they said it would be fine and said nothing about having to change them to brakish when they get bigger
