bitten by gsp

Hi

just been cleaning my puffer tank out and the biggest puffer who is 3" and fat, sneaked up on my hand and bit me quite hard it was like an electric shock.
is this normal for gsp's? or is he being territorial or did he think my hand was food?

haha I've been nibbled a few times by Bonzo, he probably thought you were a tasty treat it's quite sweet when they're little, but when they're a little larger it can be quite a sharp little bite

Sometimes they're just bitter that your hand is in the tank. Abe *always* stalks around and tries to bite me when I'm working in his tank. I've got to keep an eye out for him. My two Ceylons also used to circle around me trying to bite.

I've never actually been bit by Abe, but I'm sure it'd hurt, haha! Just keep an eye on him or hold him back with a net against the glass if you're afraid of being bit again.

I have to be very careful when moving stuff around in my miurus tank, she's bitten myeslf & my hubby.

I think it's a Puffer thing. My fahaka tries to bite anything that gets into his tank, especially hands. I'd rather get bit by a Green Spot than him.
