Takifugu Ocellatus - LFS has them in freshwater.

Takifugu ocellatus is a commercially important fish species in China, with a good market demand and price owing to its high quality meat. Therefore a lot of research was done in the last years and they have been bred in Chinese captivity.

Its life history lately is well known. They spawn just once during the spawning migration period in spring, and the newly hatched larvae remain in freshwater a few months before they emigrate to sea. Most feeding and growth take place at sea over several years. Approaching maturity, the adults return to freshwater to spawn.

Most definitely! I was speaking on and off with Martin Hi. about his experience with the fish as well. I was hoping to have some time to get together and hash some of our ideas on it but most of his site is in German, I believe, which I completely cannot read. :S
