Acclimating Fresh to Salt

I was at a fish shop and I coulda Sworn that there was a green spotted puffer in the Salt Water Tank... WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!? How do you Acclimate a Fresh Water Fish to Salt Water!?

Depends upon how big the GSP is - they do move up to SW as they get bigger. You just raise the SG a little bit each week until the are at the correct SG for their size.

I've seen even very young GSP acclimated to salt water. Probably not the best idea, but certainly not fatal.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

The mistake is in the logic; they are not a freshwater fish, but are actually a brackish fish. As they mature, they prefer to be in high-end brackish (an SG of around 1.016 - 1.018). At this level of salinity, it's much easier to acclimate them to a marine tank and use Live Rock and a Skimmer as the biological filtration (saves on water changes and salt).
