is it allowed to catch my own from the local water to feed my fish? i have mussels and crayfish snails and even the rare and small clam here and there

I would think that as long as the area where your collecting from is clean there should be no problem, although I would make sure you freeze them before feeding to kill off any parasites.

well this idea is no longer an issure because the clam on the half shell and cockles just droped in price makeing them more affordable but unfortunalty my figure 8s spoiled there diet on ghost shrimp and brine shrimp and tubeflex and the other goodys i gave them to make sure they have some food hideing for there hunting to be fruitfull keeping them amused ( i put them in with the lights off and every thing but they devoured them ... not all theres plenty left but they defently couldnt eat a clam wiht out being over feed so they have ot go glass worms tonight )
