red eye problem

so today i had to do some dentistry on my red eye it was easy after my day at work but i dont want to make a habit of it my problem is no matter what i do he wont eat it i had a halved mussel in there for a while because im told he will scrape the shell while eating so it seemed sound so i tried it and he wouldnt eat it he never eats any of the shelled anything thats why i can have the whisker shrimp in that tank but im at a loss my other puffers teeth are kept down by feeding them crabs crayfish mussels cockles large shrimp and the occasional crab leg before they hit the grill ( but usually just a piece of the end ) he eats like a horse but wont eat every thing he seems to love brine shrimp and tubeflex and iwll eat any frozen foods i put in there like mysis blood and glass worms and beef heart ( rare treat) any thoughts

yeah i am, but im lazy and i hate punctuation.......so it gets squeezed out some times. sorry peeps. seriously though, how do i not perform dentistry on a finicky puffer that doesnt want to eat shelled food?

I didn't see snails in your list (although it was hard to read). Have you tried feeding him snails?

but punctuation is a necessary part of our language as it tells us when to take a breath when somebody is asking a question if you don't have punctuation nothing makes sense little snails about the size of your puffers eye are a good place to start as far as shelled foods are concerned if its stil not interested then try some prawn meat as that is also supposed to help with teeth problems are you blue in the face yet from not breathing through all of this then get your college buttocks in to gear and type and talk properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

yes, i have tried snails he picks at them but when he does eat he just sucks them out of there shell. most of the snail i put in there fall victim to the whisker shrimp, which make an art form of eating them out of there shells, plus pond snails are always pretty small.

Mine sucks the bigger ones out of their shells, but the ones that are too small for that he just crunches. He also crunches big ones if he's feeling grumpy

Just try feeding bite sized snails. I'd be surprised if he wasn't interested in them! It's possible you're overfeeding him, and he's too lazy to get tricky food. In that case, just keep feeding him snails for a few days, and he should come around.

hes fat, but not to fat hes actually the smallest puffer. ( in proportion to his body length and gut thank god) hes actually quite quick when he heeds to be, and cleaver enough to know there's tub flex living in the lace rock. he could probably crush the shell but just sucks them out. ... he might just be lazy, but i cant control what he eats hes in my 90. the others in there need the frozen food as well and wont eat snails when no food comes forth. maybe he will grow out of it when he grows a bit bigger ( hes jsut over 2 inches like 2 and a 18 or so)


ohh and yes language is important, but don't say being a collage student makes you an adult. last night my neighbors had a party, and this morning before work i had to jump over a few people passed out drunk in the hall way out of my apartment. where the lucky ones held half a beer and the unlucky ones where soaked in theirs while the cup sat in there hand. i would rather call a 5th grader an adult then such people.
