Eggcrate looks like this, http://www.selectacoustic.com/eggcrate.htm . It is usually found with the sheets of light diffuser in hardware stores.

Wow, thank you!

I'll have a rummage round my local hardware equivalent, see if they have similar stuff over here. I hadn't thought it would be so wide: easier to replace than to clean I suppose, and much easier to place and balance in a tank. Cool!

I clean mine with another perhaps US-only product called OxiClean. That is adry pwder, added to hot water, which generates ozone and burns out all organics. It rinse free well, with no residues. There are no detergents or soaps involved, it is pure chemical reaction and I use it a lot of tank equipment so long as they are not metal.

They do sell something similar in the DIY stores in England. Look in the lighting section.

You can always have that other tank for a hospital tank, they are invaluable.

There are a few more posts on the .org, but basically... got some OxiClean and the stuff is pure miracle!

The 15G will be used to give my existing FW fish more room and to get the bog wood out of the BW tank.

The 5G which the FW fish were in can be the snail growing / hospital tank, but I won't tell Rover and K9 in case they pretend to be sick just so they can get chomping!

BTW .. love the cow!

To be precise the OxiClean saved my "E-cloths". I don't know if they are available outside UK yet but having spent years using a battery of cleaning products I was intrigued by cloths which claimed to do the job with water. Having tried one and been impressed, I bought several, only to find they themselves became clogged with dirt and the soaps intended to clean them. OxiClean saved the day.

For what its worth I have one allocated for 'tank only' use. They're really good on glass and metals... just thought I'd specify.
