View all the water motion in your SW tank.
I figured out a trick for being able to see exactly where all of your current is moving in a marine tank. Just add a 1/4 dose of melafix to the tank, turn the venturi intake on the skimmer down until nearly all the bubbles are just rushing through the skimmer, and in about 15 minutes enough will be in the tank current to be able see see how the water is moving in every visible inch of your tank.

thats pretty cool it seems that useing other things could work to but melafix is safe for fish and inverts ... im not so sure of the inverts

I can tell the way the current runs in my tank by the way the fish are thrown by the water pressure.

another great way is to put a air stone infront of the powerheads see where the bubbles go
