My GSP discolorize

Post by bonbon »

I have two GSP that I bought 1 month ago. And just last week, I bought a 10 gallon tank for two of them and they seems happy.
However, I found that one of my GSP has some discoloration on its head. It used to be greener in color before the I transfer it to the newer tank.
I know that two of my GSP seems healthy because of they active behavior. I am just worried about why one of my GSP become lighter in color.
I hope someone could adivse me on these issue.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Let me congratulate you for getting a very fun species of puffer.
Alas, the recommended tank size for one of the little fellows is 30 gallons.
There is a great article on Green Spotted Puffers in the Library. Just hit the Learn tab on the bar under the header.

Did you cycle the tank before adding your new friends? You can check out an article on Fishless cycling in the Library as well.

LOL, I'm sorry but that just strikes me as funny. Were you keeping them in a drawer before that? Please be sure to read that GSP article in our Library. It's under Puffers in Focus.
