Suggestions for new puffer tank

I will be aquiring a 50g setup pretty quick here and was thinking about setting up another puffer tank(hello my name is Aaron and I am a puffer addict:D)

Any suggestions of what would be suitable for a freshwater setup and longterm in a 50g? Don't care if it can be the only fish in the tank, so doesn't matter if it's peaceful or not.

Lets say I got a young Fahaka, roughly how long would it take to outgrow a 50g? Just curious more than anything with that one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I value all opinions on this site, the only forum out there I fully trust for puffer info.

Fahaka....very quickly. Mine has quadrupled his size in less than a year.

You can try a Congo puffer. I just got one recently and found they are quite fun to watch. (I love burrowing puffers.)

A pair of Irrebescco puffers might work too.

I really have my heart set on having a Fahaka one day but also wanna make sure I can house him properly. Will check out the pedia. Also depends on what my LFS can aquire for me.

Just get a 125 tank!.

I did! lol.. i have a 1.5 inch fahaka right now.

You can get a target puffer, they'll go well.

I have a T.Mirius, and it does A LOT of Swiming. Looking at leaves, chasing my 3 tetras (used to be 6 lol) - But their nomally very very sedentary.

I think i've seen proof that more and more, puffer behave more like individuals as much as they are species.

My fahaka lets my 4 tetras rip scraps from it's mouth! ( might not last that long though) but we'll see.

Problem for me is currently I just don't really have the room for a big tank unless I get rid of some of my other tanks which I am not really fond of doing:D MTS(multiple tank syndrome) all the way lol
