New Puffer

Post by Happy_Puffer »

Hello and its nice to have some time to get back on and talk to everyone! I just wanted to tell you guys that I have another porc, I left the tank empty and just put her in. I love her to pieces, she jumps out of the water for food and also spits water when you don't give her the food right away!! Its so cute! I also put a rather large clown fish in there and they were fine for a while and then last night I looked in the tank and it was gone! So I bought some salt water mollies since they are cheep just to see what would happen and it turns out that she likes to eat other fish!! I couldn't believe it my last one wouldn't even eat food let alone other fish. I am trying to get her to eat other food since the only thing she will eat right now is krill, I know that isn't a good meal for her but I have tried everything and she won't eat it. I think thats why she ate the clown because I was trying to get her on other food and hadn't fed her in 2 days. I don't know what to do, I want other fish but I'm not going to buy them if she is going to eat them. I am in the process of trying to get a bigger tank but I can't find one I can afford. Also I wanted to tell you guys that we have a pink puffer at work. Its weird it looks like a saddled puffer but its all gray with pink lines. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this.

Can you get a pic of the pink puffer?

I'm glad you & your new puffer are so happy! You MUST get him off krill though. There are ideas on how to get your puffer to eat other foods in our Library.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I know I hate that all he will eat is krill. But I have tried everything!!! And I have read the article but no luck and when I starve her fins start to become missing. I love her to pieces and I don't want to lose her and I don't want to force feed, I am doing that with a porc at work but its not working very well and it is very stressful for both of us but I don't want this little baby to die! I am working a lot and going to school now so I don't have much time. I went to this place called planet reef and it was so cool, they had a baby map puffer there and a golden dogface! They also had this puffer I have never heard of, its called a stellus (I think) puffer, I am going to look it up. The baby map puffer was so amazing and tiny he didn't even have his gold yet, but was $150!!! Well gotta go but I hope to be on more I miss the forum!

Congrats on the new puffer! I think the puffer you mention is called stellatus puffer. :)
