VAMPIRE puffer?
My green spotted pufferfish only likes to be active in the tank when the light is off and I can find him zooming around the tank late at night when I come home from work at 2am. During the day he is hiding behind the filter until I feed him food, then he comes out to eat then goes back to hiding why is that?

Re: VAMPIRE puffer?
My dwarf puffers seem to not like the light as well.
I have the lights off at the moment and i see them zooming across the tank but once I turn the lights on to get a look at them, they all hide under the plants. =/

Re: VAMPIRE puffer?
Perhaps the lighting is too strong for him, or there is not enough decor to keep him busy during the day.
Or he could be nocturnal.

Re: VAMPIRE puffer?
how long have you had the puffer? mine was like that initially, but has since adapted to the lighting just by maintaining a regular day/night cycle with the lights

Re: VAMPIRE puffer?
im going to assume "w" means either 2 or 3 weeks. puffers ive noticed can be slow acclimaters. mine took weeks before becoming who he is now. dont give up hope. moniter water parameters carefully and keep up the close observation.
it does get better

Re: VAMPIRE puffer?
Yea my bad, that was suppose to say 2 weeks. Ill give him some time I had some high pH problems but I took care of that recently with water changes now everything in my tank is perfect, nitrate, nitrite, and pH
