Cycling with a Fahaka

Because i changed tanks, and upgraded..i have had to cycle with the Fahaka in the tank. I used the same filtration system, and a new one..so there is alot of filtering going on..i also added 2 bubblers, to keep the protein at the top.
Then i siphon that out daily..its that saltwater person in me....lol.
How much ammonia and nitrate can this guy take??
He is eating, good coloration, and rests at the bottom when full..still hunts..is there any signs i should look for????
The tank has been kind of cloudy, and i smelled it..it smelled dirty..ya know the way water smells when its cycling.....
I changed water...i changed more water...i just keep changing water...its an on going cycle...LOL...cycle get it.
I work tonight so i wont be able to change water tonight...as i have been changing like 1/4 of the water 3 times a day....
Will the tank still cycle with me doing this??
i check the ammonia level and nitrate...and it seems like its up...but the test shows down..i have been adding prime as well...to keep those ammonia levels down..and doing water changes...
I hope these guys are hearty enough to handle all of this.
any suggestions?

if you used the same media from the filter that was in the other tank and if you brought some decorations over then the new tank will cylce within a couple days. The water changes you have been doing are great. If your test set shows good. 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite and >10nitrates then you have a cycled tank.

I did the same thing with my fahaka when it went from a 55 to a 90 gallon tank.
When I cycled the new tank I did a big 60% water swap from one tank to the other. I also swapped about half the gravel into the new tank.
I used a old HOB filter and a heater from the 55G.
After two days of swapping water I transferred the fahaka, canister filter and heater to the new tank.
It's been about a month now. The only changes have been a small spike in diatoms(not too bad, easy to clean).

You should be able to safely move the fish & filtration over with very little problems. Just monitor the parameters & do WC accordingly.
