This morning i turned the light on, and the fahaka was swimming all over, hes so active when hes hungry.
So i defrosted a shrimp, cut it into peices, and as soon as they hit the bottom he was attacking it.
Now hes hovering along the bottom with a big bloated full belly. hahaha.
Now its time to grow....
Now he knows when something goes in its food..hahaha....hope my hand isnt considered food when i am cleaning the tank. hahaha
I had 2 GSP that were 3 years old, and they would attack anything that hit the water..even me. hahaha. it was fun cleaning there tank. LOL>
The Pufster (Fahaka) doesnt seem to mind those other couple of fish in there...they even shared the shrimp i threw in this morning...doesnt chase them..they are fast. They kinda swim away when hes coming..like they know...
How ofetn should i fed this guy...its like he will eat all the time..he killed the remaining ghost shrimp and the one guppie over night..when i woke up i fed him the shrimp..can they be over fed? and will he just eat all the time???
He is looking REALLY healthy now. Been here sincelast Tuesday. He looks GREAT! yay!!!!!!
Thanks for all the advice on him everyone. super appreciated!!
Crystal K.

Most puffers will quite happily overeat, so don't stuff him TOO much.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

My fahaka will gorge himself till he can hardly move and thats not good. If he stomach hasn't flattened out after a couple hours from feeding time then you might be feeding him to much. Also try skipping a feeding day once a week. Glad to hear that he is eating!!!

Always freeze, to kill off any nasties in them, then thaw in room temp water with liquid vitamins. Crack open the shell & put the whole thing in the tank. As the puffer goes after the meat, his teeth will scrape on the inside of the shell, trimming his teeth.

Pretty much any FW vits from your LFS. Definately do not cook, you remove most of the good stuff from the meat.
