Well I am pleased to say the shop I got my Giant Starry Puffer from (remember the one which was supposed to be a brown dogface) made special arrangements for take him back and exchange him for a baby Arothron hispidus.
What made me even happier is that they had set up HUGE tank for him, The tank was 6ft(l) x 2.5ft(h) x 3ft(w) and they said he is going to be the shop pet and when he outgrows the tank they will find him a placement at a public aquarium as apparently they know quite a few 'contacts' who would be happy to have him one day! I was really sad to see him go but his new home looks stunning and he looked totally lost in it!
My new guy is as I said a Arothron hispidus, really cute specimen beautiful light grey with small white spots and a yellow swirl around his gills, but strangely no stipes on his belly (not sure if this is just a colour morph, anyone know?). He was a right wuss at first but now he flys at the glass everytime I walk up to his tank to be fed. He is a real character and is only 3inches and although I know he is going to big boy he is not quite going to reach the size of the Starry Puffer so housing will not be a total headache and I will not need to by a Olympic Swimming pool....just a standard size one

He is not a morning person, he hides in a cave till about 5.00pm and then is active all evening are they nocternal?

I believe they require min. 180 gallons. I was also told that Elvis was a Hawiian species. I just don't remember who told me that. They will also get up to 18". Elvis is 8" right now. I'm planning to move him to a larger tank in Feb. or March. Btw: He loves sea veggies, I get mine from petsmart. He goes nuts when I show him the bag.
