Puffer ID, Please?

I was in my LFS the other day, and they had a puffer I had not seen before (this isn't the first time they've had them, either). They labeled it as a "gulf puffer" - although, upon doing research, I find that it looks nothing like a puffer. I, regrettably, did not take a picture at the time--but I remember thinking that "it [looked] kind of like a GSP!". I think it is of the genus Sphoeroides, but am not sure what species. Possibly, a sphoeroides greeleyi? or sphoeroides maculatus? Has anyone ever kept any fish from this genus? Or know of any other fish that it could be (without a pic...sorry)? Anyone know anything about their habitat, size, success at captivity, etc.?

Browse through the pufferpedia and see if you see anything that looks like it.

A search at fishbase.org gives this fish as gulf puffer.

And here you have a list of all puffers of the same genus.

But if it's a puffer they often have in a LFS, I would suspect it to be a GSP. Rare puffers are rare...

I'll take a pictuer the next time I'm at the store; but it's few and far between as it's almost an hour away. It wasn't a GSP. Besides the fact that I know my puffers well enough to know that much, it was in the marine section at about 2".
