I had the lights off in my room earlier today and when I got back I noticed they were resting on leaves. I thought they were done for but when I started moving about they came to me.

I usually have their tank light on. Never knew they slept or rested..or what have you.

I have no idea why she is that large. Her and Pig are both that size, they are monsters. The other two DPs in the 15 gallon are a BIT on the small side at just under an inch without tail, but, they look PUNY compared to Marilyn and Pig. I think it's just good genetics, they were both the largest DPs in the tank when I got them, the others were smaller and almost uniform in size. I thought I was getting older, more mature DPs(I was hoping to get females) - turns out they were just monsters their entire lives I think. I wish the two of them would breed and have monster DP babies, but they both hate each other and both love the smaller DPs, one of whom is slightly cautious of them and one of whom loves everyone and everything he sees, puffer or human.

I hope mine mate (Jack Jack & Jill). They don't seem to mind eachother. I had gotten them because they were paired together at the LFS.
I'm not sure if they're sexually mature yet?

If you see a belly line on one of them at any point, start looking for eye wrinkles, they're getting there. For some male puffers, eye wrinkles are actually the first sign, but they're hard to spot.

on mine, the eye wrinkles were their first male sign. I find that they are easier to see with neon lights.
Now, they have quite a few and my small male is actuly covered with them all over his body! With neon lights it comes out blue, it's quite pretty!

My friend is giving me his 55GL tank next week.

I think i might get more DPs to start a posse. I'm excited.

55gl would be awesome i have four dps a sap with a bunch of community fish and a zig zag eel in a 55gal. I have never had a problem at all with them being aggressive or anything. I always shake my head when i read about all the trouble and fighting they have had. I just got really lucky I guess. I'm sure its got more to do with all the plants and logs that they can play or hide around in than my luck at picking calm fish. I think with my DPs though its more of the tank being 55gl that they never had to worry much about territory. So i think your 55gl would be awesome for some dps.

Hehe, thanks, I don't really think I did anything special, I think general good care plus good genetics made them grow big.

i'm having a hard time trying to set up the look of the tank.

i have quite a few plants in my 55gal tank right now and it looks empty.

i think i'm going to browse some tank set ups to get some ideas.

I just spent my whole sunday afternoon mopping the floor.

I had this huge rock/decor that I accidentally smash the side of the tank with. =X

Picked this up from my sister's house today as well.


So I still have something to set up. =( Shouldn't complain. I'm getting tanks left and right.

BTW, while out scouring another LFS in West Hollywood today, I found some pretty big DP's , a little over an inch, minus tail. They were big too. With beautiful bluish aquamarine color to their spots.....

I was just in west hollywood last night getting my drink on.
I wasn't aware they had LFS there.
Do you remember the name of the place? I might wanna go check it out.
My LFS have some really tiny ones.

I want to get my DPs in my new tank ASAP but i just started the cycling process.
Its going to be a while...
