My GSP spat on my face!

Post by recombinantrider »

I've never been so amused by being spat on in the face and here's the story. I was feeding FD jumbo krill to my GSP and Fugu puffer in the morning my usual way--holding on to the little piece just above the water to tease my fishies, sometimes moving it up and down to let them have a bite or two. Sushi, my fugu puffer was not impressed and took off to the back of the tank. However, Blinky, my GSP played along for a long time and still couldn't get the whole piece of krill that he wanted. 30 seconds later he probably had decided that he's got enough of my BS, and he spat a stream of tank water onto my face! That was quite a bit of water and I was just at shock! He might have been aiming for the krill and missed horribly, or KNEW that I would drop the krill into the water when I was mortified  . Either way, he won. I was just so impressed!

That's usually only seen in SW puffers, awesome!
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

Blinky is a SUPER character. I am babysitting him for a little while, while Joanne gets him another tank, so he is living with my GSP's for a little while. Kept an eye on them for about 5 hours, and they are getting along really well. But he will only be here for a little while, so I am enjoying his quirks.
For example...last night just after he got into the tank, as a welcome to the tank, i put in a piece of sundried shrimp...everyone in the tank went up for a bite....Elevator, my smallest GSP was going up to take a bite out of the shrimp and Blinky was close behind. Just as Elevator was about to chomp, I saw Blinky blow at the shrimp, made it move out of Elevators way, and then HE took a lunge at the shrimp. What a selFISH little guy! But I love him. He is the reason I got me some puffers too.

Thanks everyone! Blinky is one of a kind. Hope he does well in Julian's tank until I get him his own this weekend (hopefully). He can be selFISH, but he's still a good boy in my eyes!
