STUPID PUFFERS!!!!!!!!! (its funny)

I have one that used to be snow white belly all the time... until it saw me... suddenly it would go black and start "limping" around the tank. My first thought was that it was because i don't feed on Saturdays maybe its just mad at me... I'd feed, and it would turn white again. Now it just swims around half dark and when it sees me in the room swims to the surface in the front of the tank and starts begging but its belly goes bright white... thing is a con artist...

As long as I am in the room it looks happy, which makes me smile, as I like to convince myself that it likes me.

definitely smarter animals than I would have ever given them credit for.

im so glad im not the only one who gets fooled! it makes me laugh and ticks me off all at the same time.

can you put a puffer on time out?

I tried to put Abe, my Abei puffer, on time-out. This involved putting my larger net around him and putting him into the corner of the tank while I was doing maintenance (he kept stalking towards me and tried to bite me several times)... He didn't like time-out very much, though, as I believe it lasted about 30 seconds and then I was getting face-fulls of water from him splashing around wildly! I let him out, and he seemed to not try and bite me as much, haha!

My little Abe is quite the character, I think, hehe!

are they like cats/dogs? can you take a rolled up newspaper and bop them on the nose?
