How is it that it is cheaper? (I believe you, just curious). Also, I was offered 50lbs of live sand and 50lbs of live rock for $80. It has been in an established tank for 3 years. Basically you'll be doing less water changes in a marine tank which will save you a lot of money on salt (which really does add up)
That is a very good deal for that LR and LS. You might be fine with just that much sand (A little more would help) but more LR will be needed. In a FOWLR tank you'll need about a pound per gallon.
About how long does base rock take to turn live? I have a few big pieces that the shrimp and clown like to live in and one piece looks like its starting to turn. I was just wondreing about how long it take? I added live sand and some live rock but I found some beautiful pieces of base rock for much cheeper, but I think I have about half live half base.
Thanks SOOOOOO much guys. I appreciate all the help. So, my hubby's letting me keep the 29 as well as the 75, and my silly little 5g. Right now we've got 4 BBGS (which will go in the 5 gallon w/ some snails maybe?), and a new GSP (3"). What the crap am I gonna stock where? (I want one of the A. Manilensis really bad - will get a bigger tank soon!) But I also thought of eventually transporting the GSP over to the Marine tank, and mabye having another one and a toby, or just him, a toby, and a couple of clownfish. And then, using the 29 for something else. Any ideas?
