ID: T. nigroviridis or T. sabahensis?

Trying to determine the identification of a puffer posted over at Reef Central.
It looks like T. sabahensis to me, but it could be a stressed T. nigroviridis.
What do you think?

I'm almost positive it's a T. Nigroviridis...just very stressed! Where is this poor guys tail?
The coloring on the head looks like it, as well as the spots.

i dunno... his spots are all linked together... making splodges... not lots of defined spots...

and it's not like there's just one set of spots linked together, there are lots of the spots linked together..

i'd be tempted to say T. Sab... spots on the belly would lean this way too... if he was just stressed GSP his belly would more likely be a solid colour.. rather than so blotchy...

?

If it is T.Sab.. coulld explain the stress levels... looks like a marine tank to me, and they do better at very low brackish ...

I agree with you t1ger, I still think it's a T. sabahensis (the markings don't even look remotely like a T. nigroviridis to me); however the owner has since been convinced that it is a GSP, and I certainly lack the expertise to insist otherwise.

Could be a Sabah, markings on the top look right, he's tht dark though its difficult to tell, looks quite small as well.

well, unless the LFS re-sell him as a GSP... in which case it's back to square one!

Does he have a yellow spot on his head. i find t. nigrovidis usually has them.
