So what is a cup in "real" measurements then?

I went to an online conversion site and converted 1 cup in to ml, approx 240ml then filled a measuring jug up the same volume, as best as I could, then weighed it... 390g of the salt that I use is roughly equal to 1 cup :)

Nah! I'm going to stick with weighing out my salt, far more accurate :)

What would we do without cups? I can not imagine not having a cup to measure with in my kitchen, my coffee cup or my cup I mix my drinks in.

Update:

Thanks to the good ppl here and Jay my puffers are at a steady 1.002 marine salt. I added 1/4 cup of marine salt to stay at 1.002 with about a 30% water change in my 55g. I have been playing it safe adding less salt to see how high the salt actually goes up to get familar with brackish water. I will increase gradually. Thanks for the help!
