i feed him pieces of whole shrimp, smelt, and the freeze dride shrimp which is really krill right? is that varied enough or what else should i include besides the snail a couple times a week? he is only about 1 1/2in. now.
thanks,
dan
nope cubed foods i always feed forzen the food does swell a bit when thawed, but the cube begins to thaw immediately and the hard outer part keeps the teeth down, my puffers on frozens are all bigger, and they get one or two cubes most every 72-896 hours so no real danger. with smaller puffers yes i feed them frozens cut into smaller cubes that are thawed the size of their stomachs or less.
hehe well, you have seen my tank and my numbers... imoh its not for everyone and its not something to do lightly, but i do it because they become ingrained on cubes and will not touch 95% of cleaner inverts, which is a huge boon for those wanting a mixed reef or a porc tank that cleans itself if you will
nitrates 10
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
ph 8.6
are the new just tested numbers.
still round the same general number of inhabitants sans condy and 2 fish.
have a lfs that we trust for good water. We buy live crayfish there to feed our GSPs. Other than one fin nip at which point the offending claw was bitten of and then paraded around the tank like a trophy, there's been no harm to the puffs and they love the hunt.
I wouldn't buy the crayfish from just anywhere though.
geesh jhong you feeding those puffs when they are that fat already? or was that pick after feeding? they dont look they could swim after eating much more.
