f8 question

Post by jimi »

so i have 2 figure 8s buzzing around happily in a 30 long and i have some questions about them because one seems to get a cloudy eye from time to time hes fine now but once after i got him and once after i moved him to his new tank he has gotten a cloudy eye the first time it went away when i went to by marlfix ( hoping it would help) and the second time i put some in and it went away both in a matter of 2 days or so my question is why at first i thought it could be a injury but hes the more aggressive puffer and the other one is the more likely to be hurt ( which has yet to happen) im jsut asking becousei m perplexed

If he's more aggressive, he might be more likely to scrape it on things, causing secondary infection.

One of my F8s seemed to have the same problem. About 3 or 4 days after I got him, his eye got cloudy. I treated with Melafix for 7 days, and by day 5 he was fine. Then about 3 days after that it was cloudy again. Then I treated with Melafix and Epsom salt, and by the next day he was fine. Then he was fine for a couple weeks. He died cause he jumped out of the tank, but otherwise he seemed fine, so I guess he was just injuring it against the rock in his tank.
