Success with dried foods?

I got some sun-dried baby shrimp for my goldfish, but I tried it on my puffers. I soaked them prior to serving, and they actually ate them! I soaked with and without garlic, and they ate it both ways. I had better success when I crumbled them a bit before soaking. My puffers are F8s, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches.

Has anyone else had success with this? How about freeze dried tubifex worms?

My puffers have always eaten FD worms, plankton, krill. Easier to leave out in small cups when going on vacation, for others to feed your tank.

My Silus eats Krill. My Modestus used to eat Krill. I've never tried tubifex on the Silus, too messy for a small tank like that. Also, My Silus eats frozen bloodworms.

as far as freeze dried foods i feed mine krill and plankton with no problems, i just soak it in water for a couple minutes before i feed it to my puffs.

It's not as much that people have a problem feeding krill and other dried foods, it's just that for most puffers (all?) it's not a good staple food and better off as an occasional treat. Most puffers will eat just about anything.

I haven't found anything Hootey wouldn't eat! I guess he thinks that if it comes the the provider's hand, then it must be good.

my experence is the only thing i cant get puffers to eat are my hand ( thankfully ) and my f8s wont eat gobys also a good thing every thing else i tryed they will eat but it took them a while to warm up to glass worms
