baby GSP chasing other GSP (bite mark on head)

i am really worried about one of my baby GSPs. there are only two of them. one of them has been chased around a lot for the past few days and now it has somewhat of a bite mark on its head. is this normal behavior? i dont want to come home one day to see a dead baby pufferfish laying on the gravel.

i'm afraid you will come home to find both of them dead soon if you don't get a bigger tank for them... when these fish are adults they will be upwards of 6 to 7 inches long...

and will need 30 Gallons each..

You need to get a 20 Gallon tank right now for these guys, even though they are small... if you plant that heavily (fake plants is fine) and have a 20 gallon tank then the aggression SHOULD lesson as each will have their own territory and plenty of hiding space...

How long have you had them, if you can't get a bigger tank can you take them back to the store you got them from.. you cannot keep them in a 3 gallon tank, you cannot keep any fish in a 3 gallon tank i'm afraid....

also get some melafix to help his bite heal... but seriously, beg, borrow or steal a bigger tank...

t1gerbee is right. You can not possible keep a baby gsp in a 3g let alone 2 of them. My baby gsp are in a 55g tank and have had fights...blood drawn! I have very large plants a lot of decor to break up the line of sight to help try to keep piece between mine. Don't let them fool you, they may act all loving one minute but the next minute they may take a chunk out of it's gsp tank mate. I Have to be very careful when feeding because all hell can break loose as they get very aggresive at feed time.

If they don't kill each other the tank will kill them both eventually. I found my 55g for 99.00 complete on sale. If you can't do that then take t1gerbee advice.

In the mean time CK your water parameters on a regular basis, do weekly if not more water changes and add melafix to help the wound heal if it is open.

In a previous post, she mentioned they are only 1cm ea. She was hoping they were DPs. Even so, you could only keep a single DP in that tank & a 5g would be better.

yeah i was thinking the same thign about the dps when i read it and agree with all the above advice does it seem like theres a rash of puffers in samll tanks lately to anyone else ?
