picking the proper puffer

Post by mke07 »

im setting up a 33 gallon tank. (48 x 12 x12) I will be doing a planted tank with t-5 lights and CO2. I hope to keep it dense but well grommed. I would like an active puffer like a pair of sap's or a abei puffer. Problem is that i cannot find any abei puffers for sale online in the US. and nothing locally. (baltimore MD) and from what ive been reading sap's tend to make a mess of a planted tank. im not completley convinced w/ that information so that's why im making this post.

I actually think because of how social they are, you could get away with 3 SAP's in that tank ok. it's very long, and they like to swim fast, so as long as you have a clear run the length of the front of the tank, I don't think they would mess up the plants having that much swimming room.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

The perfect puffer for a properly planted tank (with or without the pickled peppers) would be the dwarf puffer, although I don't see why SAPs would mess with your plants.
