algae

so my brackish figure 8 tank has been giting a soft looking brown algae on my rocks and fake plants would i be removing it or is it ok or even good?

If you don't like how it looks, you can remove it. It doesn't do any harm, though.

Removing it is easy and harmless like mentioned. Make sure that you change out your lights regularly and avoid over lighting to keep algae growth down.

Hi jimi.

not to long and its not takeing over to much its accenting rocks and some plants at the moment

Then it is probably what some call new tank syndrome. I cleaned off what I could weekly. It took about 2 months it for it to almost completly go away. It does not hurt anything in the tank. It is just a huge eyesore.

i dont know its kinda cool becouse there a bit of green that is growning with it and make an interesting look maybe ill just get some of my bigger ramshorn snails to clean up a bit of it
