I was just wondering if anyone has caught their puffer puffing on camera. My Hawaiian blue puffer has puffed up twice, both in the morning for no apparent reason. is this for practice or what? im trying to get pic of it, just wanted to see everyone elses.

There are several pics here of folks puffer's puffing, including last month's Pufer of the Month winner.

Please do not double post in different forums. I deleted the other one, it gets confusing.

I caught Shelby puffing (my avatar and last months PoTM)
It's just for practice, IME marine puffers practice much much more than FW or BW puffers.

Yes, they do puff sometimes for practice or when trying to intimidate you into feeding them.

And I agree, my freshwater/brackish puffers have only puffed when extremely scared, but Paris (burrfish) puffs from much less. A shirt color she doesn't like (reds, oranges), a stranger, a hat, my cell phone *eye roll*. The other day I walked in and she was in full puff and panicking, I haven't seen her puff in months and I think she forgot briefly how to unpuff. Once she figured it out though she was fine, I swear, I really named her well, she's just not very bright!
