mbu puffer??

As thin as he is Getting him to eat is a top priority.Get him some live worms and lots of snails.They are great foods that will not foul the water if he dosn't eat them right away.

You are going to have to get those IP meds inside your fish. FW fish do not drink water, so putting them in the water won't help. Do not use any meds to treat the ich. Good articles on treating both, in our library.

i've salt and every other day 50% water change, increased temp to 80.
How do i get the internal parasite treatment in him???? its a liquid form, still not eating tried worms and snails today, not even interested swims the other way. Is there any chance he will make it. This is how i bought him!!

I'd try force feeding a slurry of vitamins, parasite treament, and finely minced meaty foods.

Both of my Mbu puffers had internal parasites when I got them(both emaciated and not much appetite) and both were successfully treated with this product.I used a 30 gal quarantine tank and followed the directions.It was easy to use and I got excellent results.The meds are absorbed through the gill membranes into the blood stream. I have successfully used that, but I use a half tablet and I soak the food in a glass...

i will try force feeding, when i catch him do i need to keep him under water, puffer don't do when breathing air do they??? how would you recomend doing this>?

With a puffer I think it would be best if you put it to sleep with either MS222 or oil of clove to force feed it.To force feed fish I've used a large syringe with a tube instead of a needle.You must force the tube down its throat to get any food into it.I don't think you want to try that on an awake puffer.Once asleep you can handle it in or out of the water without it puffing up or taking off you finger.

I would strongly consider putting that poor thing out of its misery! I love my mbu and that picture makes me feel sick! also if you have only just purchased it have a word at the LFS and really tell them that this ifsh was not in the condition to be sold!

It defenatly is a mbu and i cant see it making it. Draw a line somewhere if you care for it!

this post is 4 months old. He hasn't been on since 15 april so he probably did lose the fish and never came back after that. Poor MBU.
