ah yes, the hairy puffer.

so as a few of you may have read, i have been speaking recently about my hairy puffer.

conviniently named...Cloverfield. (awesome movie. and fits him well)

however...

being a piscivore...he only eats live...and my little guy ONLY has eaten fish. i realize this may be a natural thing, however, he will need crabs, prawn, krill, shrimp, you know whatever, in the long run. and after putting two crayfish in the tank for him, and he ignores them, it poses some questions..



any answers guys??


p.s. dont feel like feeding him oscars for the rest of his life.

I know people have had luck by tying a string around the shrimp and what not and then dragging it around the tank so it appears live. I think there is an article in the library with tricks for feeding puffers that only want live food.

haha couldnt agree more. thats where the joke in the beginning came from about the "oscar feeding". you would think two twice his size would be fine, but no.

anyway, yea so i tried the whole floating or dangling thing, and as a result my aro and peacock are now on frozen food...which is a huge plus hahaha, so im real happy at that.

cloverfield didnt want to have anything to do with it.

A 3" one at another pet store where I filled in the other day actually killed their 8"+ purple rose queen. Chewed it's head off overnight.
