Never trust big puffers. The fingers you save may be your own. -RTR
Re: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED!!!
My male red eye(Irrubesco) seems more shy.. often when i enter the room he's swimming arround but then he spots me and goes to his hiding spot under the plants.
He does follow me with his eyes and never losese me out of his sight i guess..

My dwarf just seems to ignore me or swim away and hide. My Mama Molly on the hand follows me where ever I go near the tank. It's weird. Half the time I can't even find my little Raisin.

I think so too..and they always wonder what you are doing. Try doing this: everytime i feed my irrubesco i would scoop some water from their tank into a cup and put frozen bloodworm, in it to defrost. I'll make sure he watch what im doing. Now when he sees me do that.. he will get very excited start to swim against the tank watching me. Like a dog wiggling his tail when he's happy.

Re: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED!!!
Have you ever noticed that they seem more interested when you are doing something?
Naturally, my puffers swim readily to the glass when I approach the tank directly, thinking they're going to get something to eat from The Lady With The Snails, but they will just hover and stare when I'm completely ignoring them.
My two dwarfs silently watch me struggle through my Trig homework, and when I do turn to look at them they look at each other and swim away..."Don't look at me. I can't even count on my fingers..."
They stare with abject horror when I feed my other tanks, and roll with laughter (swim in up and down circles) when I vaccuum the other tanks.
I even noticed that one 'sits down' on a grassy plant to watch me change clothes.
They certainly have more of an acquired personality than any other fish.

Job 12:7-10. But ask the animals, and they will teach you; or birds of the air
and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will teach you; or let the fish
of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the
lord has done this. In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all
mankind.

I think they're more interested in buying different colored skins, with fuzzies and zippers.

My DP Boeing, when I just got him and never came out of hiding, would come out to watch my(now ex) gf if she was undressed to topless or more, are STARE. She was flattered.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.
Re: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED!!!
My tank is right next to my bed, and I find that both my Figure 8's are often as close as they can get to me in the morning, just staring at my head. Then when I make eye contact they buzz away, and buzz back as soon as I act like I'm not looking.

Re: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED!!!
Ha! I spy on my gsp's when the lights are off and watch I them sleep.
I do my housework around 4am before I go to work. I leave the tank lights off and try to sneak around quitely as not to disturb the fish. Low and behold I spot them watching me while I'm working.

They see out of the tank really clearly when the room lights are on, but theirs are off.
