A few questions about Congo Puffers

I think he'll try to dig up where ever he wishes to burrow. I've never used Eco-complete & have a fllourishing planted 90g discus tank. I use low-light plants, have 4 48" bulbs over it & use Yamato Green liquid fertilizer with Jobe's plant spikes for the roots:

where do you get the spikes? I can't find them

I think I got them at Menards, in the gardening section. You break them up (thirds or quarters) & place the pieces as low under the roots as possible. 1 spike/10g.

I have never seen a tank with so many discus they always kill each other in our tanks at work so we can never have more then one in a tank. They never bother other fish just other discus. Sorry to be off topic

Mine Congo doesn't take any small food. So no bloodworms, and mosquito larves. She crazy about mussles, earthworms, crayfish, snails and chiclids pellets. There are some shrimps in the tank with her, the manage to breed a bit, bit she's hunting them down if she sees them. I would't put any fish with them, Congo's will kill sooner or later al fish in there tank. I've put some baby humback limia in with her, 3 of them lasted about 3 weeks. After that they were all gone. Nerite snails will last some time, they have very hard shell.
I have no rock or anything in her tank, only a bit of mangrove wood. She is always burried under the sand. And she's always nice red. Her favourite place in the tank is hanging on some of the wood, checking out the shrimps.

ive found they dont trake them very readily. and they tend to dirty up the tank like crazy, and if you want rocks and stuff, the uneaten ones will go all over and inside it. i had this problem recently with my hairy puffer and i had to do a few water changes in a few days..

wasnt fun.

but if he goes for em, then awesome.
