PLEASE HELP ASAP

I recently bought 3 pufferfish. I thought they were Indian Dwarf Puffers, yet as their color has been fading, I researched more as to what could be wrong and figured that they are GSP's. I have a 10 gallon tank with three otocinclus catfish and 3 GSP's. Obviously I will need to find my puffers a new home, but until them how can i keep them alive? how much salt should i put in the tank? i can move the otocinclus to a temporary home elsewhere. PLEASE HELP!!!

Don't worry about changing the salinity, they are probablly still babies so they can live in FW, just try to find them a new home, and do lots of water changes.

i have no other place i can move them to. I need to find them a permanent home with someone else. I'm going to see if Incredipet wants them. after i get them healthier, of course. otherwise I'll see if someone on the forum would like some GSP's.

yes i do live in the U.S. that'd be great if you could take them but I'm going to see if I can get a pet store who sells them to take them. if not, then I will need to get someone else (such as you) to take them. =D

i just fed them a worm. i almost took it out :3 because it was so sad to me. weird how I don't care about snails but the worm? XD


I did add a tablespoon of salt and I moved my otocinclus else where. the salt really helped because the one who was on the bottom all faded (a male I think) is much better now he's more active. but he's still a bit faded



and he's not eating as much as the others

Where are you loacted, and just keep them in the tank, while doing daily water changes untill you can find them a permanent home.

GSP can't be sexed easily at any age, definately not as babies... we would love to see pictures if you can get them.

I won't have a camera until tomorrow because my brother is using it but after that I'll try.

The one puffer who wasn't doing good is now curled up in the corner. i dunno why. I just got him to eat and now he's worse I'm going to isolate him in the breeder net I have in case he gets picked on??? or do you think I should just let him be?

I changed a bit of the water earlier today. and sorry if I sound stupid, but what do you mean by prime? I'm on live chat in the lounge if anyone would rather talk there?

Prime is a water conditioner, it makes the tapwater safe for fish.
If you give them to a petstore make sure it's one that knows what they're doing and is prepared to give potential owners real information. And definately don't bring them back to Walmart, they flush their returned fish
But if you need someone to take them I can definately take one no problem, and I'm sure I could make room for the other two or find them good homes. (I live in Illinois, and I'd be able to cover shipping costs and help you get them sent and everything, I've shipped fish several times and could walk you through it).

Keep up with water changes, it sounds like he's very stressed, change out about 50% of the water daily until you can get them new homes.

aww, I can't believe they'd flush returned fish! but no way, I'd never think about returning them to walmart. I wouldn't have bought them there either but they looked really healthy at the time compared to some of the other fish there, and I was going to buy them somewhere else... really long story.

one that was doing great yesterday is now curled up. It's like when the light's off he curls up but now that it's on he's fine...??? They don't show any signs of having internal parasites or anything. When I do my water change today should I add any salt? I mean two people said I don't need to but it helped a lot yesterday...

...now all three are swimming around...

but yes that'd be great if you could take them sometime! There's no way I can keep them.

Okay that's good news but isn't it true they curl up when they're in pain? Or is that just Indian Dwarf Puffers?
