I'm kinda concerned about one of my guys. My wife noticed a couple of weeks ago that he was keeping is tail curled and only using one of his fins and floating on the bottom. He was fine when i got home. I saw him do it again two days ago right before i feed them as soon as food hit the water he was up an swimming like normal. Today he was doing it again so i put some food in and he's back to normal. I checked the water no amonia, no nitrites and no nitrates. I was feeding them twice a day and cut it down to once a day. Some one tell me you've seen this or you know what the heck he's up to.

Re: f8 behavior
He's probably taking a nap.
Puffers are one of the few fish that sort of curl up and go to sleep. Sometimes they lay on the bottom, sometimes they just sort of drift around. They almost seem to get "stuck" in their curled up position if they are woken up suddenly, and it can take them a few minutes to start swimming normally. Often they darken up their colors too when they do this.
Usually you'll notice it when the room has been quiet, or maybe after the lights have been out for a while. If he's doing it a lot, then I'd worry, but this sounds like normal old nap time. Scares everyone the first time they see it.

Thats funny he did have us scared. He doesn't darken up when he does it but if he's napping then i'll leave him be next time. Poor fella is probably wondering why i woke him up.
thanks for the relief
