dwarf puffers

Ok so I am setting up my first puffer tank and it shall house 2 dwarf puffers. I origionally wanted a figure 8 but don't have the room for another large tank at the moment but I have 20-25L fully cycled. I have researched this and the web says that powerfilters are the best for puffers so I'm taking care of that. I just want to know weather or not to have airstones in the tank. Is it important with puffers? Just so I can add air pump to my shopping list

You don't *need* an air stone, technically, but they can be nice to have. One thing I don't like about air pumps is that they can be very noisy. If you lived near me, I'd just give you one of my small air pumps, since I have five that I never use. If you're picking up a good filter (not one that uses air pumps to push water through), that should provide you with enough oxygen for your puffers, as the water coming out of the filter will splash into the tank and help to mix in oxygen.

However, if you like the little bubble walls that can be created, it won't hurt to pick one up! Just get a very small pump, since it's only going into a 20L tank, and there's no need to pay more than you have to.

20l is a 20 gallon fish tank dimensions are 30 x 12 x 12 a 20H tank dimensions are 24 x 12x 16

20L can be a 20 long or it can be a 20 liter, which is the same as a 5.5
I assumed he meant 20 liter, since a 20 long is a good tank for a F8 and he said he didn't have room for such.

I meant 20 liters, I heard thats ok for dwarf puffers. It is right? Also I'm a she by the way

5.5 for two can work alright as long as they both like each other, there are lots of decorations, and you change a lot of water

What is a good coloured substrate to go with for Dwarf Puffers? I'm thinking black, but I'd like a little feedback.

I have a 10 gal tank using riverbed send to house 2 DPs. The color is kinda like redish color sand. I have a african drift root and some plants in there. Trying to make natural river look.

Anything natural, black works good for dwarves.

I've had two DPs fight until I find out and removed them in a ten gallon, heavily planted, and kept up with wc.s.

I use spectra stone with my babies but I am partial to the black sand (though its a pain in the butt to clean).

5.5 Gs is too small for two DPs in my opinion, even if both of them are females.

I like black rocks for a tank but I like to mix it with at least one other color. I think it brings out better colors in all fish. I have black, red, and white and I think the white makes it look too bright so I am going to change it to black and purple or black and blue.
