Changing a GSP from fw to bw
I have a GSP and i want to move him to bw but i dont know how. How much salt does it take to move up the SG? What kind of salt should i use?, i know not table or aquarium. I have read the GSP post n i didnt see how much salt it would take to raise the amount. sorry if its somewhere. im just ... special.. and cant find it :p thank ya

You need to raise the SG slowly - like .02 a week. You need a hydrometer to measure the SG.
Some people add the salt directly to a filter and let it mix in that way - other people premix their water in advance and add it to the tank at their leisure, being careful to match SG and temperature and the like with their tank water.
I would start with the $20 bag of marine salt - brand names like Instant Ocean, Kent, Red Sea...and see how long that lasts.

You mean .002, not 02. Rough estimate--it takes about 1 cup of salt/5g to raise the SG .005. Mix into a bucket & thoroughly dissolve. It'll take some math to figure how much to add to raise the SG, while replacing whatever salt you've removed during the water change.
