My Abei Puffer is soooo cute!

Post by Agnate »

So, I'm sitting on the couch reading a textbook for one of my courses, and I can hear this strange noise. Nobody else is home, so I'm trying to figure out what the heck it is. Well, I had taken some water from Captain Abe's tank (my Abei, obviously) to thaw some blood worms, so he knows food is coming. Well, I got a little distracted by the book, and wasn't giving him the food right away. So I look over, and I can see him opening his mouth really quickly, and he's the one making this clicking/snapping noise! He was hungry and wanted his food! Heeeeeee! So I immediately got up and fed him, hoping that he'll learn that making that noise means he'll get fed, hehehe!

Sorry, I just had to share my wonderfully cute story with everyone. :)

Puffers make me so happy!

Also, I was wondering... can you feed fish fruits, like a tiny piece of Strawberry? I'm just wondering if I can spoil them more. ^_^

lol, that is very cute. Milton will make "kissy noises" by biting the glass when he is hungry.

As for the fruit I'm not sure. I would think the acidity in most fruits might be too much for their stomachs to handle. But thats just a guess

Heh, well, mine isn't quiet, but this noise was pretty loud for a little puffer! :)

Hi

My Abei gets real excited when it is a real "dinner day" we give him a mix of prawn, shrimp, mussel,
cockle every 2 or 3 days, plus we are lucky he demolishes snails as soon as he spots them.

I haven't witnessed any noise, but he hangs around at the top of the tank, and I swear his big eyes
grow even bigger and he develops a kind of smile, when he is like this, no need to wriggle the food
or play a game, hold it in the water at the top of the tank and "whoosh" it's gone.

Can you try and record the sound Abe makes ?? I'd love to hear it

Good Luck
Chris

Yeah, if I think of it, I'll try to record it, but it's a pretty infrequent noise. Abe also hovers around the top of the tank when it's morning (feeding time), hehe!
