The Puffer has now arrived, Other than trashing the bags he was transported in he seems ok, and very cool have taken a pic so will post as soon as i can. A am a little concerned tho as he has sat on the bottom of the tank and seems quite happy just staying there, is this normal??? (because he has been transported) or should i be worried?????
Thanks
Lisa

Re: Puffer Sat On The Bottom??
That is normal behaviour for a puffer and can last weeks into a month.
Some call it a product of a mis-spent youth, I call it Rock n Roll !

Is his belly nice and white, and does he still come up for food when it's feeding time? You have to remember that these poor fish (although they're our favourite) are taken from their homes in the wild and stuck in elaborate jails (so to speak). If it were me, I would be depressed and sitting at the bottom of a tank, too. But don't worry, they warm up to you eventually, especially after you feed them a bunch, heh.

Yeah, I got my fahaka puffer like 3-4 weeks ago and he just started swimming a few days ago... I felt so bad for the little guy but now he seems very happy!

i agree, should definately be fine, my dogface is still doing it. hes got his own corner...its kinda sad i dunno haha.
only crazy advice id say is to check water and his coloring/eating.
10 bucks says all is fine though.
