Welcome!!
Most likely a Green Spotted Puffer.
Check our library for a great article on GSP's and also helpful information on feeding. What size tank do you have him in?

Look throught pufferpedia, check the FW and Brackish sections.
It probablly is a GSP, it needs at leasst a 30 gallon tank, and full marine conditions when older.
IS your tank cycled? What size is it?

Do you know what it is yet?
You'll have a lot of problems with that tank since it's not cycled, do you have filter media from another cycled tank that you could put in there to cycle it?

Absolutely do not use water softner salt. You will need to buy actual sea-salt.

There are great articles in our library on caring for GSP's, as well as cycling a tank and feeding your puffers. They're not that difficult to care for, but they do need special attention.

You've really got to get over that nasty habit.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
