Actually. What do you guys think about the number/size of spots as a male/female identifier? Or do you think that the spots are just as random as tiger stripes or snowflake patterns ?
I have 4 Greenies and 2 have large, spaced out spots. The other 2 have many scattered little spots. I am thinking maybe i have 2 male, 2 female. Really won't be able to tell until they are in baby maker mode. Believe me.. I am trying!! I am moving a short distance in a few days and when I have everything all set up in the new place, I plan on 2 things:
1. Obtain many videos of them doing what they will.
2. Get some of the eldest to make babies.
Wish me luck!

Spote are like fingerprints, not sexual identifiers.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Mine is about 1.4 inches long. I've had him since the second week of November last year when he was about 1.2 inches long. He was also quite skinny when i got him, now he's pretty fat.

I've definately had Shakespeare over a year, and he went from about 2" to 3.5" in that time, and definately masses nearly 3 times as much as when I got him. He was in a fish store tank for months before that though, I suspect he's stunted to some extent.
