treatment for parasites

I read the article in the library, and I'm wondering if I should treat my 2 abei's for parasites. They seem fine...should I wait until they show signs of infestation? Also, I looked at big al's online and I didn't see any of the products for sale that were recommended in the article. They had Clout and Prazi pro, would one of these work?

If you do not suspect IP then there isn't any point throwing meds at them IMO. I think Prazi-pro works well though being in the UK I am not too familiar with the american products Can I ask whether your abei are in the same tank?

Thanks for the reply. They are in the same tank, for now. It is a heavily planted 55g. There is a bit of chasing going on after lights out but nothing serious so far. I'm in the process of getting my 75g up and running and they can have that. It's big enough that if they start to become more aggressive I can put a divider in and they'll still have a fair bit of room.

Abei's should hold a good shape even if they go for a week without food if they were well fed previously then the belly shouldnt be sunken. As soon as you see sunkenness go for meds then but until then dont worry about it. If they are fine now its most likely you wont have an issue with IP's.
