Planning to build a puffer tank...
I would like to get some "larger" puffers for a 55g or larger puffer tank. I would love to also have a senegal bichir and maybe ropefish is the same tank. Any recommendations for what species? I was originally thinking a couple congo's but it seems that they are a little too aggressive...

Usually your larger puffers like to make meals out of potential tankmates.

oh good deal. I have a rope fish that just became social yesterday. I'm happy he's not a cave dweller anymore

I agree but I also have had great experience if I start everyone off in the same tank as they are a similar size. Of course this is not always the case. I always keep a very good eye on my fish though.yunachin wrote:Usually your larger puffers like to make meals out of potential tankmates.

I wouldn't chance any fish with a Congo puffer. I tried a pleco with mine & it didn't last a day.

I think any long slim fish is a risk with a puffer. they may see them as a worm type food and take a test bite. unfortunately this will more likely be fatal for the other fish
