(UPDATED-I got mine!!!) I can't get a F8.

Post by By_a_coo »

Hi there..

I'm can't find a place that sells F8 in my country. I ordered another one from the guy who sold me the last time, but he said he hasn't got any at all and we have to wait for the next shipment . I tried to call all stores that probably could carry these fish, but my attempt was in vain. I wouldn't like to give up my purpose. If I can't find another one pretty soon (I am not a patient person  ), is there another small predator fish that fits in my 20G tank? Is it possible a UK or US website to import a fish to another country or is it just a dream of mine?

Thanks.

PS:Moderator - If I posted the topic in the wrong place, please move it. Tks.

Personally, I find that SAPs and F8s look considerably different. Still images don't portray this very well, though. :P

As a matter of fact, I don't have any interest in SAP's (sorry if someone has these fish). One of the stores I called, the seller told me it's unauthorized to sell SAP's around here, and I believe that aquarium stores in my country don't have any kind of knowledge to keep one single live GSP to sell :( . It's hard to find even one DP!!! I don't really wanna give it up... But.. if I have no choice? What should I do? I don't know another small predator fish with such personality!! :( I'm praying everyday for a call from the guy I ordered a F8 once, calling me to say I can go there to pick it up!!! I can't stand this waiting time any longer!!! If he can get a F8 for me, I'll be unhappy for a long time!!! LOL

Could you bite the bullet of high shipping and have one shipped to you? Not sure how it is in Brazil, but yeah. Or, if you're THAT desperate, take a road trip up North and pick one up... ;)

Agnate, I would pay any price if a website was able to send me one F8 tomorrow!!! LOL
But it would take too much time (days) and I would spend a lot of money taking a road up North (much more than a US or UK shippment), because I live in the south of the country. Everybody who knows me can feel my desperate!!

I'll have to practice my patient and wait days or weeks for the F8 I ordered already. OMG, I'm 24 years old and I'm acting like a child    It's so hard when you suddenly lose a lovely fish and have to wait to get another one... :(

here in singapore, it's really quite easy to find puffers. Haven't seen a F8 before though. GSPs and DPs are rather common. Also seen SAPs and both species of red eye puffers.

I've never seen anything other than GSPs. unless you count the LFS with a porky (not for sale) and a dogface(supposedly sold for like 8 months)

What are the chances of fish surviveing if you go and catch them wild? just wondered about some of the more exotic places, cause that's be pretty cool. is it the same as me catching my Bass and sunfish? or is it harder in places like Brazil and Singapore?

Although GSPs can be found at swampy areas here in Singapore, no one actually catches them. We get them from LFS too like many of you. Try going into these swampy areas and u will end up sinking all the way into the mud. And Singapore isn't in anyway exotic, its a developed country!!!

I had no doubt that you're plenty up on times and developed, I just thought you had exotic fish... at least exotic to me. too bad you can't catch puffers.
