My Puffers: I have Bonnie and Clyde(aka-Fatties)- my baby spotted puffers.
In the same tank I also have two figure 8's named Thelma & Louise.

OK i am trying to turn my tank over to BW and I need help.... I have a 30gallon tank with SGP, how much salt do i need to add per gallon so i can get my salinity up to .0002 a keep adding how much every week to make it high like 1.0010? please if someone can explain this to me in full detail, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Jennifer

What kind of salt are you using? Normally they come with instructions too tell you how much to add.
Generally 4 cups=10 gallons of sg 1.022, so you would only need a very minimal amount, like half a cup or 2 tablespoons or something.

one for salt water starts at 1.016

In a topic a couple down from this one, I explained that there are two common Hydrometers, and one of them (the one you have) is only really good for Saltwater, and the other is a lot better for Brackish setups.

Unfortunately, like you, I found this out the hard way. If you're using what I think you're using, there are actually TWO different hydrometers to choose from. I had to take mine back (luckily I hadn't opened it), and got the one that measures from 1.000, which is the one you should be looking for.

I hated my corallife one, It was always off by around .0003 which became quite annoying since the tank could have been .019 and i would have said .024.
The instant ocean one (on the bottom) is amazing, it was the hydrometer I used from the start and I won't use any other hydrometer now.
