My question is, Can Dp's and a SAP get along? Assuming I have 3 DP's and 1 SAP in my tank? If they can't, then I will put the DP's back in their 10 gal. I just want to know cause they love that tank.

Okay, so today we rearranged the bedroom, but in order to do that, I had to take water out of my DP tank, so I moved my DP's to my currently unnoccupied (besides kuhlies) 30 gal tank. I LOVE them in there, but will move them back to the 10 gal tomorrow if i get my new puffs.

Just fin-nippers. Not really attackers, but I Thought it would be reasonable, because I've heard of people keeping DP's with Irrubescos.

I've heard of people keeping SAPs and DPs. Can be hard but it can be done.

I too heard DPs and SAPs were ok as long as there's plenty of plants to hide everybody!!!

SAPs seem to do a lot better if they're not kept alone; although I'm not sure the tank is ideal for more than one. I keep three (and an LDA08 plec) in a 36G, and they've been fine for seven months (and one tooth trim later), although I'm upgrading in the near future. They are extremely active puffers, and mine do tend to swim near to one another although the odd one wanders off now and then to be brave!

I've got 10 adult dwarf puffers in a 55 gal with a 1.5" SAP for almost 2 years now no problems. The only fish to ever miss any pieces of fins were some zebra danios that're also in there. No major injuires; just some occasional bites missing that always grow back. The tank is heavily planted, but even when the two kinds of puffers come in contact with each other (including at feeding time), they just ignore each other. I've never seen aggression between DP and SAP. Within the DP group is another story...
